Choose who receives the diagnostic
Teachers can assign one diagnostic per student across a whole class or select one student. Parents choose one child profile.
- Open Diagnostic Center.
- Choose a Grade 3 class or student.
- Keep automatic pacing selected unless a manual checkpoint is needed.
- Optionally enter the actual first day of school.
- Prepare the diagnostic.
How automatic pacing works
Automatic pacing avoids treating future classroom topics as weaknesses.
- Beginning of year: early Grade 3 chapters, 20 questions, about 25 minutes.
- Middle of year: chapters taught through midyear, 24 questions, about 30 minutes.
- Full-year readiness: all Grade 3 chapters, 30 questions, about 40 minutes.
Track status
Ready to Begin means the student has not started. In Progress shows saved answers. Report Ready means scoring and recommendations are available.
Good to know
- Teachers should send students to Student Login.
- Parents can begin a child diagnostic from their own account.
- Do not create a replacement while a student is actively working.

Why are later topics missing?
Automatic pacing includes only material expected at the current point in the school year.
Does everyone receive identical questions?
No. Questions are balanced by chapter and topic, then selected from a larger validated pool.
