Place Value
The value of the place, or position, of a digit in a number.
Example:
In \(456\) , the \(5\) is in “tens” position.
For the number \(5861237\), Which has seven digits.
In the ones place, We have \(7\) with the value \(7 * 1 =7\)
In the tens place, We have \(3\) with the value \(3 * 10=30\)
In the hundreds place, We have \(2\) with the value \(2*100=200\)
In the thousands place, We have \(1\) with the value \(1*1000=1000\)
In the ten thousands place, We have \(6\) with the value \(6*10000=60000\)
In the hundred thousands place, We have \(8\) with the value \(8*100000=800000\)
In the millions place, We have \(5\) with the value \(5*1000000=5000000\)
