SHSAT Math Test

The SHSAT (which stands for Specialized High School Admissions Test) is a standardized test organized by the New York City Department of Education. The SHSAT is the entrance exam for New York City Specialized High Schools. It is open to New York City eighth-graders. In addition, students in 9th grade can take the SHSAT 9th grade edition.

The SHSAT tests English Comprehension (Verbal) and Math knowledge and skills.

The test's mathematics component lasts 75 minutes and includes basic arithmetic concepts, quantitative problem-solving, and algebraic questions. The Math component of the SHSAT has 5 Gridded-Response and 52 multiple-choice questions, and students have 75 minutes to complete it. The SHSAT test does not allow the use of a calculator.
