HiSET Math Test

The HiSET, also known as the High School Equivalency Test, is a high school equivalency test that can be taken instead of the GED. These exams are designed for students who have not completed high school and want to acquire a high school diploma. A successful HiSET score will award you the High School Equivalency certification. When you pass the HiSET (or GED) test, you have high school-level academic capabilities in the United States or Canada.
The HiSET exam is divided into five sections: Social Studies, Reading, Science, Mathematics, and Writing.
You will have 90 minutes to answer about 50 multiple-choice questions in the HiSET Mathematics segment. The HiSET Mathematics Test assesses your mathematical skills in the following areas:

  • Use of numbers to address real-world and mathematical problems
  • Percentages and proportions
  • Graphic data representations
  • Algebraic expressions
  • Linear and quadratic equations
  • Geometric data representations
  • Fundamental statistics
